I am going to guess 5k ish

Take the mats out of the trunk look at the trunk floor is it all bent up? There are two metal beams on the left and right side of the trunk is that area bent up?

Sorry to see this. To me it looks like it's going to be more than the quote to fix it. There looks to be a lot of damaged parts.

if the trunk floor is damaged like the one screensavers posted, then the repair will be around 6k...still no where close to totalling out the car.

if youre going thru your own insurance company keep in mind that this is minus what your deductible is so if you have a 1k or 500 deductible its about 4 grand in damage which looks about right

also make sure you get the regular trunk now since you have the doggy door. that will be a plus for you and if tail lights are busted get 05+ tails too

hell no make sure you get the other trunks its not like its gonna be a price difference for the body shop

make sure they leave that for the end (go to a body shop that will be cool with you instead of the insurance company)
and talk to them so they order those parts last and put them on last or order them urself and tell the body shop to reimburse you and if you find it cheaper then theyre getttin from the INS company theyll make money and youll have a way nicer rear end

I think you need a new rear lip. Take it off and sell it to me.

If you go to a good body shop the car will seem just same if not better. a year ago i was t-boned on the passenger side rear wheel well and the repairs were a little over 11k. However the body shop did a great job and the car runs better than it did before (i was able to get all new tires out of the deal). But the car will be the same trust me. just as much fun to drive!
