Acceleration Problems - Help!

Acceleration Problems - Help!
Have a '04 RWD sedan with 9,500 miles. Over the past few months I have noticed the acceleration decrease especially in the higher gears. The car does not take off like it used (from 30 mph to 50/60 mph)...it feels as if it's draging a bit. I called the dealer and my salesman said he hears this all the time and that his G35 didn't "break in" till 15K/16K miles.
Has anyone else experienced this?? Also, as a side note, whenever I was given a loaner for service done, the loaners always seemed to outperform my car especially with acceleration. The salesman again said that's b/c the loaners have higher miles on it and that have been really pushed by their drivers so they are better broken in.
Is any of this true or is there something else wrong with my car.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

It's possible you have been 'grannying' your ride lately.
Remember the ECU has a 'learning algorythm' which means it will learn your driving style and replicate it in subsequent drives.
To remedy this, either do an ECU reset (in our DIY/FYI forum) or drive your ride more spiritedly. Either way, you'll notice a big improvement in performance.

Re: Acceleration Problems - Help!
You can find info on resetting the ECU HERE.
The easiest way to do it tho is to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for 12 hrs or more.
Your ECU will relearn your driving style in time anyway even doing nothing else.
