Another one bites the dust
be safe out there guys....**** this long *** storm in the west coast....
i was driving on the freeway at a safe speed, no more than 60mph. Caltran has been doing construction on the freeway, so it was a little bumpy. i guess the car hit a bump and the rear end got a little light...or the car just hydroplaned, did a 180 and continued to skid across the freeway. i had my foot planted on the brake but the car was just not slowing down at all. i saw the guardrail in the corner of my eye and to be honest, i didnt think i was gonna hit it, and all of a sudden...BAM!!! the right rear of the vehicle planted itself into the guardrail and came around and the right front tapped the rail again before the car came to a stop.
from what i can see right now, there is some obvious damage to the rear quarter panel, both front and rear bumpers, right front fender and a small scrape on the front passenger door. front rim is bent pretty good and rear rim is curbed all the way around. some suspension damage on the front but i dont know to what extent at the moment
i think im done with the car...thinking about parting out whats left right now

He is right man. Your life is only one and you car can be rebuilt 1000s times
Glad your okay man.
Glad your okay man.
So sorry about your car. I totaled mine in February in Boston. What's weird is mine hit exactly as you describe yours, the way it skidded and wouldn't stop. Mine did that too. And it hit in the rear right but mine flipped. Thank God you're ok and I am too. I miss my '06 so bad. I have an '07 and it's just not the same for me. Hope you get a good settlement for it.
dang that sucks man..glad you are okay though..these things are what insurances are for! i almost fishtailed last night...icey weather up here in michigan, turned my butt right back around and went home.
if you are parting out....i got first dibs on that front lip!

got in a similar accident, but I'm actally putting money back into it to fix it. That rear quarter panel is what's really gonna cost you, since its one piece thats not replaceable. My front bumper was damaged too and my front and back tires were both curbed in. Im looking at about 4-5gs to fix it, but it would easily be in the 8-10k if i went through a collision center. Goodluck.

damn dude... sorry to hear about the accident and glad you're ok. weather's been a b!tch and i'm afraid to drive. thank goodness for BART. I gotta get new brakes and tires soon.
Glad your ok...I was in a situation like that in one of my previous cars. I heard that you dont mash on the brake when you slide out of control. And you don't counter steer your suppose to steer in the direction your going to try and gain control. Don't know how that works out.
