stock tires question

How long should the stock tires last if the car will never be autocrossed and just used a daily driver? How does a comparable set cost? Thanks.

Re: stock tires question

Tire life depends on road composition and roughness, temperature and inflation, speed, and stops/accelerations per mile. Owners commute , job, and style.

Different people go thru brakes and tires at different rates, not unusal to see a 20,000-35,000 mile range for tires on same car all driven by ADULTS.

Nissan like to use soft tires as oem to gain performance in magazine test but most last at least 20,000 miles till the tread wears to 2/32" unless owners don't rotate, flip, and do alignments every 6 months.

Anything over 20k is a gift!

Re: stock tires question

I have 27k on my G35s and still about 4/32 tread on it.
It should last about 5-10k more for me. I have Bridgestone 17" OEM tires.

Hi Qtech45, can you tell me if you can install springs only
from a coupe to a sedan running with the sport shocks..

Thanks

"alignments every 6 months"

I average about 1 alignment every 4 years as I am a stickler for avoiding alignment killing crevices and curbs if at all possible. Also, I thought the G's suspension was designed to be alignment friendly in the way the springs are not over the shocks or something...care to shed more light?
