After leaving my '06 G35X for a week at an airport parking lot with valet parking, the fob buttons on my i-key have stopped working. I can still unlock the doors and trunk with the exterior body buttons, and I can still start the engine (without inserting a key in the ignition). My wife's i-key is behaving the same. The valet had my i-key, but not my wife's.

I've changed the i-key batteries, but it had no effect. It's like the car's ID number got changed.

Anyone got any ideas?

OK, it helps if you put the batteries in the right way up!

The instructions say to have the + side face the bottom of the fob, but when you're actually doing it, what looks like the bottom is actually the top. I'm an idiot.

 

It takes one to know one. LOL glad you figured it out. i was going to guess that the battery was low.

 

Lesson learned

 

After having valets break two of my ikeys now....they get the valet key.

Downside here is I have had the guy come back and ask where the key goes
