why do I find myself wanting a A4?

I love my X but if I would ever be persuaded to get a different car it would be an A4. I love the look of the car. A friend of mine had one and my only reservation of ever getting a Audi is his car always had something going wrong with it (maybe he got a lemon??). I have always loved the look and ride if my G so I don't think I will be getting a Audi anytime soon!

Audi is highly over rated man. I just traded mine in for a Jeep. I am so happy I did too! Let me put it this way. I went to the dealership to buy turn signals and paid nearly $30 for them. Yup THIRTY DOLLARS for two bulbs! The guy was a complete snob too when I was buying them! So if you want an Audi get one, but be prepaired to pay out the nose to maintain it! So far on my Jeep I have only had to replace the air filter with a K&N one and put gas in it. NOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BTW an A4 has less space inside than our G series.
To OP, Audi's are on the upper side for maintenance (nothing beats Japan on cost of ownership), but it does offer some nice features and it is turbo which opens up possibility for mod bug

thanks for clearing my head.. I hate fixing cars and do my research on long term and my G has been reliable since day 1 and I haven't done anything and im dead serious since i've had it cept for oil changes.. I do love a black A4, i'll just admired from a distance! its amazing how most have compared the G35 to A4 before purchase..

I been working at Audi and Porsche dealership for the last 2 years. The 09+ A4 are the best for reliability the 08 and earlier modals are not the greatest. The new S4's are awesome with the supercharged V6 if you have $50k to spend but i wouldnt buy an 08 or earlier model A4, i see them come in for service all the time and they are expensive as hell to fix.

I've had a B5 S4, a B6 S4, and almost bought a D2 S8. Before the Audis, I had 4 VWs. Each of them needed constant work; keep in mind that I din't drive particularly hard either.
I did the work on all cars myself and still could not believe how much money I was putting into repairs every 6 months. Not maintenance... REPAIRS. These were 3-4 year old cars that would need $600-$1000 every 6 months for things that I've never had to replace on any other car.
I think they are fantastic looking cars, but I would not consider one as a DD until they get their isht together. The only thing worse than the reliability is the customer service at any dealership... which is why I just started fixing the cars myself.
German engineering doesn't mean anything if the product is manufactured by the lowest bidder.

Time to change the spark plugs, trains fluid, diff fluid, power steering fluid, coolant, and pcv valve!

My dad recently purchased a 2011 A4 2.0T quattro. It's a fun car when you're not driving in a straight line with your foot down. I would say if you're looking for more fuel economy, and A4 would be great. I stuck one into a corner at 65mph with my dad in the car and it held, no Traction Control kick, and only a slight understeer push. The 2.0T it uses is based on the same one that's been in the MKV GTI since 2004. It's epically reliable. Touted somewhere as one of the ten best engines of..something...I can't remember where...I think Audi's 4.2 V8 was on that list too.
