Re: Interested in a Custom Car Grill?
Just got mine today. I'm not inpressed. I really can't see how to install it as it has no instructions. But wait I am told in the packing sheet to go to thier web site for the instructions, thats good. But wait it gets better...there are none posted just..."coming soon". How helpful. This does not make me feel confident at all. Hopefully Coolie can post what he did and do the work customcargrills should have done.

Re: Interested in a Custom Car Grill?
IQ9,
I apologize for there not being any written instructions. That is mostly my fault because I have been very busy at work.
I have posted pictures on my website that should help.
<a href="http://www.shaunmathur.com/Grill_Instructions">Grill Instructions</a>
First, you need to remove the stock grill...
To do this, release the 4 tabs on top and take those out. Next, in each corner, there is a diamond shaped screw (look through the first horizontal opening in the grill). You have to turn that screw to make it look like a square (this will release the grill). Finally, you have to pull and tug, pretty hard to release the bottom clips WHILE pushing down from the inside. There is a picture where I point to what the latch looks like and the diamond shaped screw.
Once the stock grill is out, you will start working on the new grill...
I RECOMMEND USING PLAIN GROCERY TIES AT FIRST SO THAT YOU CAN GET A FEEL FOR WHERE YOU WANT TO ATTACH THE GRILL AND HOW MUCH YOU NEED TO FORM IT TO THE CURVE.
Place it on your knee, length-wise, and try and form a nice curve. This step is not necessary, but will help make the grill look better when installed.
After that, place the bottom of the grill against the frame.
IF THERE IS TOO MUCH GRILL ABOVE THE TOP GRILL LATCHES, THEN CURVE IT MORE SO THAT IT IS FLUSH OR CLOSER TO THE TOP.
You will attach the bottom, with cable ties, to where the latches of the stock grill are places. I believe there are 8 connecting points. Get the bottom as close to the frame as possible, so it's a tight fit. I suggest attaching the inner latches first and then moving outward.
When you get the bottom 8 cable ties attached, you will move to the top. The curve will form as you attach the ties.
On top there are 4 holes that the stock grill was attached. 2 of these holes go all the way through. This is where the top of the grill will attach to the frame. BEFORE attaching the top, trim the bottom cable ties, as they will be difficult to reach afterward.
Just attach the 2 cable ties to the top latches and lower the grill SLOWLY. Close it shut. If the grill bends awkwardly, you need to curve it more from top to bottom.
If you did this with grocery ties first, then just replace those with the cable ties, if you are happy with the look and placement. If there is a bend, spend a little time forming the grill to the curved shape...remember, it comes flat.
Thanks for posting this message...it got me going a bit on instructions.
Don't hesitate to msg me if you have any more questions.
Shaun

<a href="http://www.shaunmathur.com/_images/Grill_Instructions/2003-2004_Infiniti_G35_Sedan_Grill_Instructions.pdf">PD F Guide</a>
Made this tonight. I think this will clarify any problems you might have. If not, feel free to message me.
Please don't blame Custom Car Grills for the lack of the guide. It was my responsibility.
Thanks,
Shaun
