Auto climate control and MPG question
Auto climate control and MPG question
So i've been trying to set the Climate control on auto so it can blow air at the face and att he legs, or just the face. But for some reason every time i press the auto button and turn the A/C off the climate control switches and only blows at the legs.
Next issue i am still in the break in period but i get about 14mpg in the city, i was wondering if that's what you guys get on average

You can re-adjust the flow direction by pushing the 'Mode' button repeatedly.

I think you have to have it on manual to do that combo. Once I got over 10k mileage wise, my gas mileage has been consistently around 18, 19, 20 city.

Re: Auto climate control and MPG question
Heat rises, so the auto mode is trying to start with the heat on the bottom first and when the temp rises, adjusts the flow upwards. If you don't like this, you shouldn't use auto mode. You can still set the temp and manually control the flow.

When you change the 'mode' the auto light goes away but it is in fact still in auto mode. you've just overridden that one aspect of auto. Press mode to get it blowing where you want and then leave it alone, you'll find it adjusts speed and temp etc just fine. Test it by pointing it where you want, and then adjusting the temperature. Trust me.
Incidentally, in colder temperatures it does the feet only thing because it's really the best way to maintain the cabin temperature. Heat rises remember so it's trying its hardest to obey your commands.
The climate control just takes some getting used to. But... don't think that it's not in AUTO mode just because it doesn't say it. It's lying. In fact, it's ALWAYS in auto mode. the AUTO light should read "full auto"
Hit auto, turn off the a/c, set the mode, and you're golden. It WILL control the temperature.
Enjoy.
