You sold your Gsedan and bought an AWD because you thought it necessary when living in the NW? When in reality it's totally unnecessary?

And you're calling us ignorant?

okay

I read your post. I just doubt you realize the $4k+ you're going to spend fixing those turbos or the POS 6MT or the multitude of thousand dollar repairs you'll be facing. I'm close friends with an Audi/vw tech who's a huge Audi/vw nutswinger and even he says to avoid the 2.7tt at all costs. The 4.2 motors are a close second. My friend has an 05 A6 4.2. He averages $2 to $3k in repairs a year. So far, after 4 years ownership, he has $9k in the car. That's not including brakes, tires, etc. The car currently needs $3k to fix a leaking gas tank and turn signal repeater.

I assure you I understand the cost of repairs. Once again. I have friends, relatives, I heard from a guy, etc. This is the stuff I researched for months. I know what I'm in for, how to prepare or prevent them and such. Don't worry about my wallet. I appreciate the insight but it is not anything new to hear. I have a second vehicle and this will eventually my weekend/ track car one the turbos go and bigger ones go in. For now it is making a great dd. Oh and the POS 6MT you speak up is known to hold 500+ hp just like the 2.7t engine. If I wanted something reliable I would have bought a toyota or kept my g.

^Now Dave... in all fairness, G's have a few reliability problems too... like my rear caliper sticking for example.
Do you have any idea what that's costing me to fix?!? 3500! (cent) That's just ridiculous!
Well, in all fairness, that's a used part, I could have went for new, but that would have cost about twice as much!

Why are you guys arguing about it, obviously both cars have their merits, which one you prefer is completely up to where your priorities are, I think its too late to convince him not to buy his car now anyways seeing as he already owns it :P

I meant that in a joking manner to poke fun. G's can be fast. Although it cost an arm and a leg to get them there. Plus boosting a otherwise n/a motor is not wise with the compression ratio being so high.
