My G35 Problems, please help!

Hi all, I just wanted to post some Qs. I did search through the website and TSBs and didnt find the right answer so decided to post.
My gf has an 04 G35x and has been having numerous problems with the bose sound system. She has had the cd changer replaced, the amplifier and some more things. The problem is while driving, randomly the left side speakers will stop working. The dealer also checked the wires and it they keep the car for a whole day to work on it everytime. Its getting very annoying because its a new car and shes been back and forth over 4 times.

Not to mention they never have a loaner, and once they did. It was a Stratus :-/...

BTW while writing this, the car doesnt seem to accelerate and feels like its about to stall while driving. Like when u accelerate, it stutters. The engine light came on, so am goin go dealer now.

Thanks in advance guys! and hope u can help me out!!

Re: My G35 Problems, please help!

Yes constant issues with the audio system! I was wondering if I could use the lemon law or not in this case? Does anyone know? I thought the problem had to be remedied by Mfg and not dealer? Can someone shed some light on this?
Thanks
Im sure area matters, so its MI .

PS flipping out does no good. Its just sad to have such an awesome car and deal with such bad customer service and issues! My car has been more reliable! haha. Though I like the G better ...

Re: My G35 Problems, please help!

Welllllllll as for the speaker problem gonna have to drop it off again. Last time they had it for 3 days!!! Damn it! Oh well

Andddddddd as for the check engine light. They said ECU malfunction and had to reprogram it. Wellllllll they couldnt reprogram it! Sooooo now without a car for 2 days, while I wait for a replacement ECU ... It sucks, I dont think Im getting my G35c no more cuz of all these problems and bad support ...

BTW is there anything I could do? Complain to Infiniti or anything? Its rather annoying to buy a new car and keep going through some BS every week :-/...

I don't know if I missed something but you say it is a shame to have these problems with a new car. Then you state your car has 20,000 miles on it. I think the lemon law is with a brand new car.
Did you buy your car used and from Infiniti dealer?
I have about 15,000 miles on my G35X and I am very happy. I have also been very happy with dealership in Tacoma, WA. I usually get a loaner for service work if I want one. The dealership is pretty nice and I like to use the coffee machine and watch a little tv and talk with other Infiniti owners.
Hope you situation works out.

Happy to own my G35X

Lemon Laws vary from 12,000-18,000 miles depending on state..........they are for major defects not minor annoyances.

Such that the car is undrivable for 30 days in the period.
Each state varies.

Re: My G35 Problems, please help!

Also I don't know if audio problems qualify a car for lemon law.

I did have a ECU problem at 1600 miles and it made my car real sluggish. I took it to the dealer, they did something and it hasn't come back.

Re: My G35 Problems, please help!

Update

STILL waiting for new ECU... They told me it was being overnighted and would have it by Nov 18... Today is Nov 22 and still no car!!!!!! Soooo now the ECU is on back order and wont get the ECU till Friday Nov. 26... ... This had been really annoying...
On top of that I told em to take a look at the audio since they do have the car for over a f'in week... But their slow asses wont get to it... What sucks is this is the only dealer, next closest dealer is 50 miles!!!!

Re: My G35 Problems, please help!

I had the same problem. I could not have been more annoyed -(2 days to duplicate the problem, two more days to fix it loaner issues etc.,) I lashed out at the dealer for which i felt bad later (it was that bad by my standards).

Anyway, when i had the same problem with audio system (left speakers blanks out or output fades out randomly), they replaced the audio unit. Within 10 miles of driving, the same thing happened again (This was only in the CD mode, radio worked fine, never checked with cassette player). Then i took the car in again, they were going to replace the CD unit once more, then Infiniti Tech services has asked them to check the amplifier and they replaced amplifier and it started working fine again. Infiniti Tech services had suggested that they replace the audio unit once again because a bad amp could kill a channel or two in the audio unit though it is new (basically suggesting that they replace both audio unit and amp at the same time to avoid one bad unit killing another). But the audio unit was backordered a few weeks so i started using the car with an audio unit replaced few weeks back with an amp replaced more recently. Luckily so far, it has been working fine (3 months).

Suggest the dealer to talk to Infiniti Tech Service or replace both units as above.

Re: My G35 Problems, please help!

Hmmm thanks alot prabhacar! I will tell them that... I just hope their lazy asses listen... Yes whats worse is when your G is replaced with a POS Stratus!!! Well alteast this time we got a G...

As for the audio problem, I will tell them to replace both units at the same time... They have replaced the CD player and the amp... But both were on seperate occasions... So I will tell them to replace both at the same time... Hope it doesnt take those lamers 2 years...

Re: My G35 Problems, please help!

BTW does anyone know realistically speaking how long does it take to replace just the amp or the in dash changer?

I have installed many aftermarket systems and never takes mroe then a few hours... Yet it takes them 2-3 days to install one amp or cd player...

So yea finally got the car back after 2 weeks... Yup it took them only 2 weeks to get an install the new ECU...

And yup they never got to checking the sound system. And he said oh if u want u can leave it and we will..... And we jus said NO, grabbed the keys and ran away hahaha... I knew the fockers would keep it for another 5 years...

Anyways got a G35x as a loaner and it didnt drive as nice as mine. It pretty much works well, sounds nice, shifts crisp. The loaner didnt sound the same nor did it seem as fast or shift the same. Oh well im happy the car is back and hope never have to go to the dealer again... Aside from when they have the Amp and new cd player in...

Hahah Im not even playing bro... It pretty ghey lol... They say it will be a 2 day job and make it 2 weeks. They always keep the car for about 3 days or more... Yet when leaving it, they say oh it will be done today.... Im glad you havent had any problems. They f'ed up the ECM trying to reprogram it. But we got a new one and car runs strong and perfect. So I am happy. The Bose system keeps cutting out, but I wont have them touch it until they replace both the amp and cd player at same time...

Im jus glad I didnt mod it yet, else im sure they would blame the ECM problem on mods. So Im holding out on the Z tube for now :-/...
