The 05-06 works, its just slightly larger. I have my stock 05 muffler paired with an HR-Y and a similar mid-pipe setup, I think it sounds great. As for finding a stock muffler, try the marketplace - I think you have enough posts to do a "Wanting To Buy" post. Otherwise, look in here and see what you like https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sed...mpilation.html

Or try your local Kijiji or equivalent, wrecker's yard, etc. 03-06 muff will fit. Aftermarket like HKS is also very nice.

thanks for the input! so just to verify: the 05-06 RWD and 03-04 RWD mufflers will bolt on to a 04 AWD?
i found by reading old posts that the midpipes will fit the X.

so i could get this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HKS-S...ht_3937wt_1161

right now with my bad muffler the backseat passengers get a loud drone, the hks will eliminate that right?

drone isnt too bad with HKS, depending how bad your muffler is, youd hopefully see an improvement.

Damn the HKS is up to $560? WTF..........

And yes it will drone, I ran it with a coupe midpipe and my stock 05 mid and got rid of it because the drone got to me. I seem to be in the minority on this though, a lot of sedan guys rock it and love it.

yeah i have heard a lot of good stuff about the hks exhaust . . . anyway after a lot of research i think i'm going to go with the Megan Racing OE-RS Exhaust from one of the sponsors on this site (Marinelli Motorsports). got lots of other stuff from him in the past. great price was the deciding factor. any thoughts? no problems on the awd?

The Megan will fit fine. But I hear from people who have experience with it, that its loud. If the stock setup is causing more drone than you'd like, the Megan prob wont eliminate that. But it does sound sweet. I would have bought the Megan already if my car wasn't the family cruiser.
