Speedometer stopped, Slip light on, VDC light on, Engine light on, etc....

OK, here is my odd issue.

The car is a 2003 G35 sedan automatic and just reached 100K on April 16, 2011 (which may or may not have anything to do with my problem).

I turned on the car and suddenly the following happened:

1. Speedometer stopped working
2. Tachometer acts erratically, going up and down
3. SLIP light is on
4. VDC off light is on
5. Service Engine light on
6. AT Check light on (i believe automatic transmission)
7. Signal lights do not turn on (Luckily the physical lights still work)
8. Wiper controls behave oddly
9. My headlights turn on and off (in auto mode)
10. The car jumps during the automatic gear shift (up and down)

What's going on with my car ?

The only think I can think of is a heavy rain fall just before I parked the car but while I was driving in the rain no signs of this crazyness showed up.
I really don't want to pay Infiniti 150 bucks to tell me that I need to clear my sensors.

Any idea how to fix it ? It must be something electrical or am I completely off ?

Here is the 45 sec video I took with my phone.

Surprisingly but totally not unexpected, I come to take my baby to the doctor and when I turned her on, she was FINE again. The only thing left from the 2 day craziness is the service engine soon light.

Now do u still go to the mechanic or should I wait to see if there is another hiccup later ?

Your expert advice is much appreciated.

Before you give Infiniti any money, go to your local auto parts store and have them scan the codes. They usually will do it for free.

Then search the codes on this site to get a better idea of what the possible problem/solutions are.

Thanks guys. I'll definitely do that. I'm due for an oil change anyway so I'll just go to my local mech and once i get the codes, I'll post my findings here for all the fellows and fellowlessess that will experience this in the near future.

My guess is water got in the battery compartment and got something wet, fuse box behind the battery or I think the IPDM is back there as well. After it dried out it started working normally.

Definitely sounds like water to me. I would check the floor mats in the front. Make sure to check all the way in the back and feel around for anything wet. Also, pull the mats up to look for water stains.

I had water seeping in on the front passenger side in the back and didn't know it for a year. It was a very slow leak. One day I took my car in for a touchless car wash and it threw a Check Engine light from the water shorting out some wires.

My 04 5AT did this once. Turned out to be the battery was drained from a dome light being left on. Put it on a charger overnight and cleared the codes and that worked for me. I would try that first. Then have your battery checked if you are still having problems.
