new shoes

I'm a new member and so far have really enjoyed reading the posts here. I have got some good ideas from everyone here.

My baby needs new shoes. I was looking at the ADR wheels. Does anyone have them or have knowledge of this company's products? Seemed relatively inexpensive...approx 850 for a set of 18 x 8.5.

Next question is what tires is everyone running? I've heard the top of the line Kumo's provide a good value. I live in FL so cold weather isn't an issue, but rain is.

Any feedback is much appreciated.

Ciao

ADR wheels weigh a ton and are not very high qaulity. You probably won't find too many G's with them on. If you are looking for inexpensive wheels try the Axis line. They have a better reputation and better looking wheels IMO.

As far as tires go, spend a little extra to get better tires. After all that's what's keeping you on the road, especially in the rain. Sorry I don't know much about Kumho. I went to tirerack.com and read reviews on all the brands of tires. There's a lot of good info there. I ended up with Bridgestone Potenza S-03's. Expensive but worth it IMO.

I have ADR rims and I love them. I think they look very classy and sporty at the same time. As regards them being heavy, well... I really don't have anything to compare them to. And my G doesn't seem to mind since I put on my stillen cat back exhaust on. :-) They are 19"x 8.5. The exact rims that I have are ADR Design M-Sport (Hyper Silver). I just shot them an email to get the exact weight on the rim. As soon as I hear back I'll post again. I am sure that whatever you pick it will look good!

Re: new shoes

Let us know if they reply to that email. I tried to email them a few times about a year ago and they never responded. I asked how the wheels were made and the weight. No reply.

Re: new shoes

yesterday, i saw some Moven rims. they are modeled after the sportec mono 10's. (i actually thought they were mono 10's until i was told they were movens). hahahaa. they can be had for about 200 bucks a piece for 18's. if u want, PM me, and ill send you a link or something.

Re: new shoes

The Kumho performance tires are a good bang for you buck. The MX max summer pferformance tires are a good value and provide very good grip in the dry and wet. The Ecsta Supra 712's are not bad at all either. The only bad thing about Kumho's I've heard is that they wear down fast and make more noise towards the latter part of their life. When it's time for new tires I plan on going with the MX's.

Re: new shoes

jrlesher, those are the wheels I was looking at...ADR M-sport. Except I was leaning towards the hyper-black. Do you have a pic of the hyper silver's on your ride? I'm also putting on the stillen cat back at the same time. Sounds like that stillen is treating you right from you comments.

After looking around there are several manufacturers that make that same design rim. Sportec, moven, axis, and a handfull of others. I'll take your advise and find out what they weigh and how they're made. I will post the results when I find out. Maybe you guys could shed a little light on what I find. I'm still learning.

As for the tires, I'm not going with the Kumos. They're Korean and my experience with Korean's makes me nervous buying any of their stuff. Those Korean's are wacky people in general.

thanks for the info.

ADR Rims

I got an email response back from ADR and they said that the rims weigh in at 26lbs.

JM2C.....
I considerd the ADR M Sports as well.
But decided to spend a little extra and go with Volk SF Winning

The nice thing about the Volk is the forged rims, and since it's
a two piece, there are many offsets available to get a good fittment
without using spacers
