OK guys, got these installed yesterday. I'll try to get some clips up later tonight or tomorrow.

First off, I'm really disappointed in how they sound with my current setup. There's a horrible buzzing sound at around 3k rpm. Sounds like a 10,000 bees going to war inside a coffee can.

It's so bad that I'm thinking there has to be an exhaust leak or something rattling down there. I know the bolt on the heatshield sometimes gets in the way and needs to be trimmed down. I'm thinking it may be rattling on that. I'll try to take a look today or tomorrow.

Other than the buzzing at 3k, it really doesn't sound too much different from the stock cats. It's a little louder but nothing dramatic.

As for power gains, definitely noticed an improvement, especially up top. When crusing at 70 mph and passing another car it definitely has more pep in it. Only problem is I have found myself driving like a granny because I don't want to bring on the buzzing, lol.

Anyone else with an OEM exhaust setup and ART pipes? I'm curious if it sounds the same on someone elses. I currently have an HR Y-pipe, coupe midpipe, and 03 muffler.

I got mine in yesterday and will hopefully have time on Monday to install them. I will post a video and add it to my other thread for my Injen exhaust. I have 2 up already. One with just Megan test pipes and my other mods mentioned below and then another video with the magnaflow X-pipe.

Definitely look into clearance on that heatshield stud. Keep us posted because I'm going with a very similier setup (05 sedan midpipe) but I'm also going to incorporate a cat in the midpipe which should quell some of the nasty "bees in a can" sound catless exhausts tend to exhibit.

^ You will buzz like a **** if the shop either didn't trim or trimmed very little of that driver's side bolt. Even if the bolt isn't touching the ART pipe during install the exhaust's height does change while under load and it will cause the ART pipe to graze that bolt.

The sound will drive you nuts. Make sure that the shop will trim that bolt as much as possible to avoid any possibility of contact with the ART pipe.

If trimming the bolts doesn't make the sound go away, its rasp from the art pipes. I had bad rasp but with the resonator attached to the xyz y pipe the rasp went away, look into getting a resonator put on your y-pipe it will help reduce rasp anyways

I'll be going to the shop today to get the bolt trimmed. The guy was trying to tell me yesterday that it's how "test pipes" sound and didn't seem to understand that they are not regular test pipes, lol.

Alright, just got back from there. It looks like the right side branch resonator is touching the transmission pan which I was thinking could be the cause of the rattle. The bolt from the heatshield looked too far away to be causing problems so they didn't trim it down.

After further inspection however, it seemed like the sound was actually coming from the Y-pipe where it merges. If that's the case, then there is no fixing this issue with an OEM Y-pipe.

Is there anyone with an OEM Y-pipe (DE or HR) with ART pipes?

I would have had them trim the bolt anyway. It might look to far away but the ART pipe moves during acceleration and deceleration. Well keep us informed on what it could be
