stuff that went bad due to hardware failure:
exploded 4 transmissions changed O2 sensors, crankshaft sensor, camshaft sensors, a/c fan motor, at 220k somehow the crank became loose and managed to FLY OUT of place .... motor mounts, I packed the transmission mount with McMaster .60A urethane.
Reasons for failures:
Transmissions: Overheating, lack of proper cooling due to intense driving.
o2 sensors = motor mounts failed, caused Catalytics to fail thus causing chunks of **** to damage them.
sensors = wear n tear
a/c fan motor = wear n tear
Crank = best GUESS is the oil i was using was too thick (15-50 Valvoline VR1) causing oil pressure problems I haven't ripped the engine apart to know the facts so I am speculating.
Fixes:
Transmission(s) = Installed Transmission Cooler (somewhat large 8x10x1/2inch) This transmission has survived through countless track days, and 110k+ miles with no signs of foreseeable failures. Other transmissions have failed nearing 20k miles.
The rest of the fixes are just self explanatory.
I replaced the engine with a 2006... The differences are simply sensors... you have to use your 2003 sensors and engine wiring harness and it's plug and play.
So far I am up to 260,591 Miles. I think at this pace I should be up to 500k by 2015
