Question exhaust suggestions?

I've been thinking about a new exhaust for my 04 sedan. All i really want it an awesome sound. I think the coupe exhaust sound is awesome so anything like that or better would be perfect. Hope anybody could give me some suggestions....THANKS!

OR...if you don't want to "go all out" on an entire new cat-back exhaust, you could replace your stock midpipe for the Coupe midpipe to get closer to the Coupe and FX35/45 exhaust note (especially below 2,500 rpm). $235 + shipping from www.performancenissanparts.com.

See my review https://g35driver.com/forums/reviews/34040-coupe-midpipe-g35-sedan-stock-ypipe-muffler.html

Sound is really a matter of personal preference.

FWIW, here is my experience.....

I installed the Borla on my sedan;
For me, I found the drone of the Borla annoying on my daily drive.
The sound itself was magic under WOT.
The drone is in a limited RPM band (1800 - 2400), but that band
is where most of us drive, 90% of the time.

I ended up removing the Borla & reinstalled the stock system with a
HKS muffler. The sound is great, almost like the coupe.
Definitely much deeper, & gives a nice growl under WOT.
& it's a direct bolt on replacing the stock muffler.
Also the twin polished stainless tips are great looking.

So if you all you want is sound, that would be my suggestion.
It really depends on how loud you want it.

Interesting! I also have the HKS rear section exhaust (aka muffler)
and love the sound. But it is in no way close to sounding like the coupe.
I wish it did, but I am very happy with it and the intake mods I have.

Speak for yourself, I rarely drive between 1800-2400 RPM. I'm usually around 3000 RPM. You are the only person I have heard that has complained about a drone from the Borla. Most "drone" complaints come from the Stillen cat-back.

Like I said, exhaust sound is really a subjective topic.

Probably different for AT vs MT.
Arround town the 5AT is often in the 2K range; unless in MM.
When I owned an MT I tended to keep the revs a little higher as well.

Also, surprised you haven't heard of other peeps with Borla issues
- 30 search hits for Borla drone (didn't read them all)

Don't get me wrong, the Borla is a great system & it was not an easy
decission for me to change.

I was going to get the coupe midpipe and probably will but I was realllly hoping someone who had an 05 Sedan would chime in and tell us what they can about the new exhaust sound. I wonder if there's anything there that we can swap out to our cars.

The Borla cat-back will run you anywhere from $660 to $960. Check the websites of g35driver.com's sponsors.
