I just recently installed a Mishimoto radiator on a 2003 5AT sedan and after installing everything back and filling with coolant as well as using the bleeder valve, the car overheated. I'm lost and have no idea whats going on

 

you still have air in the system. burp the system.

turn heat all the way to 90* and full blast the vents

let car idle until car is at normal operating temp

rev engine for 10 sec @ 2500 rpms

let idle for 10 sec then slowly open the bleeder valve...let the air hiss out and close it quickly as soon as coolant starts to drip out.

repeat this process until you no longer get air coming out.

I do this while driving a circle in a neighborhood. Do not let it overheat - stop and turn it off before issues. If you burp the valve you will find that just letting it sit for 3-5 min will build up more air even with the car off.

If you have a spill proof coolant funnel it is by far the easiest way to burp the system.

Do you have one of the spill-free funnels? I've heard nothing but good things about them. I really need to change my coolant soon and this seems like the ideal part to get air out of the system.

 

Don't forget to remove the relief valve when filling. Fill very slowly.

I have burped the system without one many many times but its much easier with the system. Very quick.

The method I explained above works great just takes 5-10 times of burping through the valve til the air sufficiently gone. You can really minimize how much air is in the system by slowly pouring the coolant in and squeezing the upper hose to cycle it around a little.
