05 Sedan Ebay Headlight Mod

Has anyone modded the 05-06 sedan with the black 03-04 sedan headlights from ebay?

If so i am looking to do this since everyone wants ridiculous prices for one headlight, let alone two.

Complications, work-arounds, DIY links?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks.

Junk. The blacked out ones are halogen housings and not designed to take your HID's.

I'm curious to know too. I got projectors I'm willing to retro into the housings.

The 03-04 headlights will bolt in and work but the fitment is off. The shape of the 05-06 is different. They are not a direct replacement like on the coupes.

If you're looking to just black out your OEM ones, you can follow this DIY

eBay headlights are FAIL. Rather save up enough money to get it done properly by professionals or as G35Papa pointed out, follow the DIY as a cheaper alternative.

I am not worried about modded or OEM..
I just need a set of headlights and ASAP cause I'm not willing to pay 800$ each for new OEM ones..
I need anything that will work..

Do not buy ebay headlights. They are cheap and the seals around them loosen up and then consendation collects inside them. Save up and get quality ones or do the DIY on your OEM ones

^ none of the guys on this forum have had that issue...

You need to swap your hood, bumper and grille to make those lights work in your 05/06

I love how everyone talks bad about the ebay lights, and I bet not one of them has ran them

That being said though, absolutely NO on a 05/06.
They'll "fit" (as in they'll bolt up) but will leave a HUGE gap between the bottom of the headlight and the bumper. Not to mention, they're designed for halogen bulbs, so you'll either have to do a retrofit, or replace your oem ballasts with aftermarket ones, and the beam dispersion is not likely to be as good.

Basically what I'm getting at is:
eBay lights are a viable solution for 03/04s that have un-repairable headlights and don't want to spend major cash on OEM.
But they are NOT a viable solution for 05/06s due to the fitment and HID issues.

My apologies if I offended anyone but I have ran similar lights on a different car so I just put my .02 cents But good info to know for 03-04 owners

^Oh no doubt there are some crap lights that come off ebay... but just because on brand is crap on one car, doesn't mean that another brand for another car will also be crap.
