Anyone else like their older car better than the new ones?

To me, my '06 is still "new" - I just bought it in February. Coming from an '01 Cherokee Sport, it's a huuuuuuuuuge upgrade, and the newest car in my family. I can't justify buying a brand-new car - I let someone else take the depreciation hit and buy 'em a few years old. That way when I resell them it's not as much of a loss.

Of course I think 1st and 2nd generation sedans look better than the coupes so what do I know?
Don't get me wrong, they look good especially with the right stance & wheels. Every once in a while though, I see one that is stock driving down the highway (obviously not modded, like a base model), and the wheels look so small for the car. The rear end can look a little big to me in that case.

No argument there. The sedans have always had extremely undersized wheels. A 7" wide wheel with 215 tires on a 'sports sedan' is a joke.

+10000

v36sedan>v36coupe

The more the g37 coupes ages the worse it looks IMO. The sedan on the otherhand especially the S is one of the nicest looking sedans on the road. not that I'm bias...

Back on topic, I think the sports cars of the 90s look much better then modern sports cars. Supra, 3000gt, 300zx.... mmmmmm....

It looks like designers are getting back to that - I just saw concept images of the new Mazda RX-9. I looks very curvy, more like the turbo RX-7s. Concept images of the 2013 Sti looked good too...

I prefer my g35 over the g37's everyday. Wouldn't trade it for a new one for sure.

yeah, i like my 1st gen better too. drove a couple of 2nd Gen G sedans loaners before, felt fast at first, till i started modding my sedan more. now the HR 3.5's feel pretty weak in comparison. i'm sure a new 3.7 sedan would gimmie a nice kick in the pants but i have yet to drive one.

Yeah, I didn't like the feel of the g37 loaner i received when I took my 05 G35x in for service. I agree there was a weird blind spot and the steering wheel felt weird.

But I am thinking hard on trading mine in for a Lexus GS350 AWD very soon.

I loved my first gen, but I love my 2nd gen a lot more. The whole car feels tighter and better built. It also rattles a lot less lol...

I still have a soft spot for the first gens and absolutely love driving them. They are more 'raw' feeling I guess, and sometimes I prefer that! But right now I am just enamored with my 08... I love this car more than any other car my family has owned, and that includes my dads 09 Corvette.

With Infiniti's great used car financing (1.9%) and my 60% downpayment, my payments are very reasonable.
