There may be something with the shifting,

I still beat a 37 sedan weith intakes, not sure if the guy was tuned.

I didn't blow him away by any means, just walked. I was kinda sad lol

you're coming to the sedan GTG right? you, me and Bill should do some comparison runs while you're out here. i'm in if you guys are. Bill, you have to figure out where we'll do it, since that's your neck of the woods.

Are you sure about that? Without cams, I don't why your DE's powerband would be shaped any differently than other typical bolt-on DE which sees power peak in the 6100-6200rpm range and drop significantly after 6400rpms. Except for 1st gear, there's really no need to exceed ~6700rpms in gears 2 through 4. Holding on to the gears too long after the power peak can lead to significantly slower times. Shift points are very important.

so wait did it beat the v35 in a 1/4 mile ONLY race, or it was a road course with a 1/4 mile strip at the end of it?

because i dunno with all those mods the g35 should beat the g37 which is heavier and the g35 w/ those bolt ons is mid 13s easily w/ a good driver so i dunno something wasnt done right by the g35 driver

Isn't his car at 5AT? If so, I don't see those mods getting him into the mid 13s. Perhaps a 13.8 on a quick track, but I think a 14.0-14.1 is probably more realistic. I still think the G37 sedan 7AT should be quicker.

Even though the G37 is a better car in a drag race, I'd be pretty comfortable saying the G35 should be a little quicker around road course or auto-x because of the significantly lighter weight (200lbs to 300lbs, depending on the year of the 1st gen). I think mod for mod, in terms of suspension, tires, and brakes, the G35 should be quicker around a course. If the track has longer straights, it will play to the G37's advantage.

theres numerous people on here w/ stock G35s that used to get 13.7 -.8 on stock Gs w/ a great 60 time. so i dont believe it being smoked by 2 cars
g35 w/ those mods should run 13.5 easily

unless that g37 is doing low 13s stock then its a drivers race. one driver in 2 cars will be a perfect way to test q/t times

It was a 1/4mile only G37 did not run road couse.

Just so you know Vq35de's dont run mid 13's in so cal ........ to hot here

my 1/4 mile et was 14.12 @ famoso in Bakersfield CA & OCG35 ran a 13.95 & he & I are considered to be quick sedans in socal. ur prob on the east coast were min 13's are common

& the only thing that i didnt do right was win

like i said your in a state where the de motor runs those times ,

step out of the chi town into this dry desert heat & you will understand !

furthermore , The de motor suffers from heat soak because of the metal plenum.

to my knowledge the hr motor has a poly carb plenum

furthermore it was 102 degrees in the shade my cold air intake was not nearly as effective as his stock intake
