Clutch Burn & Slip at Hard Takeoff
Hello,
Something unusual happened to my clutch yesterday. I was at a stoplight and initiated a takeoff at 4k. The tires screeched in first gear and I shifted to second gear.
Then here is when the problem started. In second gear, my clutch pedal was stuck halfway and would not spring back to the top. The clutch was slipping and easily reved to redline. I could smell the clutch burning so I put the tranny in neutral and the clutch pedal sprung back to the top.
I stopped for a brief moment and checked if anything was leaking. Everything was good so I slowly drove home. The clutch was fine at this point but I still could smell the clutch burning.
I would like some opinions as to what when on. Is the clutch going out on my car? Is the master or slave clutch cylinder going bad? Is the pivot pin wearing out?
The car has a out 110,000 highway miles and has not been driven hard. I flushed the clutch fluid recently and bled the system. I would like to hear your opinions. Thanks.
