Z-tube install
Z-tube install
Hey any fellow local Boston members wanna give me a hand to install a z-tube? My mechanic cant do it! I dont have the time to do it myself, kids and career take up most of my time!
I'd help ya out but I'm on the west coast.
It's really easy to do.
All you need is a screwdriver, 10mm socket wrench, pliers and 15 minutes.

^ A Z-tube install should be very simple - although I didn't do my own.
Probably better if you posted up in your regional subforums than this one for local help. If you're near Rhode Island I bet Naughty240 could help you. And then some from what I hear
Find a different mechanic ASAP!, if he cant unscrew 3 bolts,(7 with the cover on),(4 on cover) + (2) 10mm and (1) flat head, and then get some pliers to undo the vacuum hose. Then why is he a mechanic?
rhode island is far no? and its easy as can be i dont have one but i did one for my boy i personally dunno if there worth it i read the thread were a fellow member tested all different intakes on the dyno and wasmore impressed with the stock setup
Exactly what I was thinking.

The Z tube is the stock setup. The difference between the G and Z intake tube is the G has baffles and chambers built along it to silence incoming air. The Z tube is just a straight tube. It has a slightly more aggressive growl when under throttle due to not having the baffles. stock tube period showed best results as compared to most aftermarket intake tube setups from all I've read.
