My Service Engine Soon light has come on a few times. It comes on and is solid, not flashing. The manual just mentions the fuel cap. This has been an issue about once a month for the past two months. Both times it went off after fueling the vehicle and some passage of time. It just came on tonight and I filled up the car before coming home but it hasn't turned off yet. I feel like it could be for something else...am I missing something or should I be worried about it? Thanks.

 

Are you making sure the fuel cap clicks 10+ times when you tighten it? If so, just buy a new cap and see if it solves the problem. They are about $10 at auto part stores.

 

Don't do an aftermarket cap. Get it from the dealer. Anyway, get the codes read.

 

Read the codes...guessing wastes time
