is there a special edition with the nav system?

I'm looking for a g35 sedan and I noticed most of them don't have the nav system and screen, which I really want. Is there some package i'm looking for when I look for these cars? Is this a rare option?

Not really rare, just not that common since I think it was still a $3K option on top of the $3500 premium package.

When i was G shopping back in 2007/2008, i wanted an '06, with either black or stone interior and NAV. It was actually pretty hard to find that combo in an exterior color i liked. I came across them, but lets just say if a dealer had ten 05/06 models on his lot, only 1 had NAVI and it usually was a ugly color combo or something i didn't want.

I don't know if oyu are looking for an 03/04 or an 05/06, but with the 05/06, you need a G35 premium model (with the intelligent key, dual climate, power adjustable steering wheel, rear vents, reclining rear seats, etc) and then have the Tech option added to that. You can't get navi on the "base" model G35

Here's my '06 with NAV. Took me a few months to find it.

I understand how you feel specially spending money on a car...

BUT... you only have a couple of posts and almost none of them shows that you are willing to research and find the answers you have been looking for.

My suggestion would be is to take time for research and read also the SEARCH function is available for you to use.

Get to the Sedan section and read read read...

Asking those kind of questions here will give you a negative answers and flame...

Goodluck and post pics after your purchase !!

Yes, on the 03-06 sedan, it pops up out of the center console.

Here's an 05/06 without NAV. There's a sunglass cubby on top

Here's an 05/06 with NA. You can see the difference in control panel up top.

closeup

Keep in mind, 03/04 models are slightly different than 05/06 models on interior and exterior. 03/04 without NAV looks like this. Same cubby up top, no control panel

Just look for the control panel above the HVAC controls

Im gonna be that guy

The navi is ok at best.

It just looks like its from 1998. No 3D and if I remember right no text to speech.

Why not just find the car you like and add an aftermarket in dash navi? You can find a nice navi installed for $1200ish. Or if you can do it your self you can make that price go down substantially.

the nav system interface is ok for its time, the nice pop-up dash integration makes up for it though. It works well enough to get me where I need to be. The 2006 navigation system is 'updated' and is a little nicer then the 03-05 system. It uses the 7.x DVD that the newer Nissan/Infiniti cars use, compared to the 6.x DVD for the 03-05 system. If I would have bought this car brand new I would have ran the other way being a $2,000 option on top of the prerequisite premium packages you need like Mustang mentioned.

I agree. It's outdated, but it's simple to use. Biggest drawback is not touchscreen. Programming an address takes forever, but it reroutes pretty damn fast and is easy to use while driving to zoom ahead and scout out the route. Much easier in that regard to other Nav setups i have access to.

It has that 3D birdview screen...but it sucks and i don't use it.

^ i hate the freaking ****. Plus from what i hear it is very easy to break it.

Its fast at connecting and holding signal compared to most phones and handheld GPS units. It does have some odd ball routes that they ASSSUME is faster.

I mainly use it for a on board live map, rarely for actually navigation functions. If i was to buy new i would not opt for this. Like many said you can get a JDM trim for $300 and most aftermarket GPS radios are $300-1200. Much better stuff. Only good thing about OEM is its kinda sheath-like

I use my sunglass holder for my Garmin - looks good and fits very well - Garmin 6xx model. And it is probably better than the factory unit.
