You mean the windshield? Doesn't bother me when I'm driving. That pic is showing the worst possible scenario...facing east with full sun angled right through the windshield.

Tinting the front windshield makes about as much sense as driving at night with sunglasses on. The only tint that should be on a windshield is a 6" brow.

It def. looks good don't get me wrong. The two issues I had were:

Cops - maybe I live in a town where they don't have **** to do but both nice cars with tinted windows.

Parking at night - I scratched one rim where the curb came out completely unexpectedly.

Now I just have rear and sides and still get a lot of complements. No hassle

This is what the windows are now

+1 Brow is perfect. Unless you're really into the whole "I wear my stunna glasses at night"

35% in the front, 20% in the back. I think windshied tinting will be too dangerous for night driving.

I have 15% all the way around and nothing on the windshield and its fine at night. I've never had my windshield tinted and don't ever plan on it, but if you feel like its something you want to try out then do it. Worst case scenario is you don't like it and you wasted money.

Going price in my area is $125 to $175 depending on where you go. $175 is on the high side for a sedan.

I think worst case scenario with a tinted windshield is hitting a pedestrian on a dark rainy night.

I figure someone will know right away whether they like it or not...so unless they get their windows tinted on a dark, rainy night, they shouldn't have this problem.

I understand your point, and agree, there are several horrible scenarios we could create for this. I guess the OP should try driving around at night with some dark shades on and see how he likes it.

depends on the cops in your area. I went with darkest legal (35%) to avoid the law, but it still seems too light, I liked 20 on my audi sedan, but white made it look darker too.

Had either 15 or 20 and got pulled over 3 times in 4 years for it.

A light windshield tint (50%) is nice and unnoticeable compared to the rest of the tint.

Keep in mind, the VLT of glass is 75-80%. So that means if you take 35% film and put it on glass with a reading of 78%, your total VLT is only about 27%. So if your legal limit is 35%, 35% film will put you under the limit and be illegal. The law states the max TOTAL VLT, not the amount of the film only.

The last time i measured bare G35 glass, i got a reading of 78% or so. So that means to put legal tint on your car your film can be no darker than 44%VLT. On that glass, that will register 35% on a tint meter.

Just an FYI if you find a cop ever putting a meter on your glass one day when you thought you had legal tint.

in MA, legal limit is 35%, but when i checked my glass with 35% film, i get 27% (i own a tint meter). With that said, in 4 years...i've been left alone. I've even been stopped and nobody has said a word. Then again, i'm 30 and my car is relatively stock-looking. So perhaps I don't get typecast as much as I did when i was 18.

EDIT: More examples

50% film would read 39% on the glass
35% fim would read 27%
20% film would read 16%
15% film would read 12%
5% film would read 3.5%
