Here's a couple stupid questions for ya'll, don't really wanna start a new thread for them, so I'll ask them here...

1. Where do I find the paint code for my car? I'm pretty sure I have DG paint, not the Liquid Platinum, but I need to know the paint code for sure...

2. When lowering the car substantially, I know that some correction will be needed in reference to camber/toe for the front and rear. Would getting the SPC rear camber arm kit be enough to get the rear toe back in spec? Due to the semi-aggressive setup I plan on running I'll prob be going with at least -2.5 camber, but we all know that toe is what kills tires... Are the front camber arms really necessary to get toe back in spec, or am I good just with the rear kit?

Thanks...

Code is near strut tower on a metal plate. 3 digits, off the top of my head DG is WV2? Been a while since I painted one.

Thank you sir...it was right where you said it would be...

KYO W is the color code. So I'm assuming that it's Brilliant Silver.

I never in a million years would have picked those wheels, but they somehow fit the XB really nicely. Unique in a good way. So I have to agree.

Agree here also. I sense tasteful but unique mods coming.

If you go lower than 1", you'll need front camber arms, rear camber arms, and rear toe bolts. You have enough factory adjustment in the front for toe, but the rear will need the larger toe bolts to get back in spec. For front arms you really only have 2 choices available that will give you any significant positive camber adjustment, SPC or SPL. They are both fairly expensive, but I prefer the SPL arms for their construction, easy installation, and almost 2 degrees of positive camber adjustment. The SPC kit comes with shims that have to be installed behind the wheel hub and plastic brackets to relocate the ABS sensor which are a pain to install correctly. A lot of people have issues with the Slip, VDC, and ABS lights popping after the SPC install.

For the rear camber arms you have a ton of choices, I'd suggest you pick a brand you trust and go with them. However, DO NOT BUY Ichiba products, they suck ballz.

HTH and let us know if you have any more questions.

I've always had a soft spot in my heart for RWD Nissan's/Infiniti's ever since I had a 92 240SX hatch in high school. Unfortunately, when I went to college and bought something new and reliable, an SVT Ford Focus. I paid that car off went I finished up school and took a plunge on a 2008 Nissan Altima 3.5SE 6spd before I went to basic training for the Army.

Once I finished my basic and AIT, I ended up having a problem with the dealership and finance, long story....But I needed to get out of the ridiculous payment they stuck me with and I bought my 09 xB and lowered my payments by over $300 (I know right, freakin' Nissan).

But now that I'm about to deploy yet again, I wanted to lower my payments once more and buy a car that I've wanted since it came out...the American V35 Skyline sedan!!

So I drove across 2 states to pick up my G, that had just the right amount of miles, a great looking Carfax, and a dealer that was willing to give me what I wanted for my xB. So without further ado, here's my G in all it's stock-ness glory!!

But that's my new baby...I'll be leaving my house in a week and won't be back til next year, so until then, it'll remain stock but my shopping list is already getting long.

I'm thinking at least 19x9'' Front 19x10'' Rear +20 to +30 offsets, nothing too crazy. Not set on which coilovers to get, I had KSports on the xB and I'll never do that again. Thinking maybe F&F or Stance, but the Pirate/MDU's seem pretty awesome for the price... I've done my research on slamming the G, and I know that some extra parts need to be bought for camber/toe in the front and rear, but not exactly sure what to buy and where to buy it.

As far as performance, my G is an auto (first automatic I've ever bought lol), but I needed my wife to be able to drive it so I won't go too crazy with the motor...maybe intake, plenum spacer, catback, ypipe, that should wrap it up.

Exterior wise, keeping it simple is the key I think, OEM front lip, roof and trunk lid lip spoiler.

I hate to have to wait a year to start modding, but that's the way it goes I guess. Anyway, I'm happy to be here and I can't wait to start modding!!

Welcome. Cars look great (I commented above )
I dont think the dealership held a gun to your head and made you sign , but I know what you mean. I just let my G go for a ridiculously cheap price because I found another vehicle that I wanted/needed. I got a really good deal on the new vehicle, but in return I let the sedan go for less than I should have. So in the end I can say that I got a good deal on a new vehicle. Needless to say, I am picking the G back up tomorrow to strip the stereo (and what mods I can) so I might have a 5/16 MD spacer for you if you would like to purchase your first mod prior to departure
On that note, Be safe and thank you for your work..It's appreciated!

I'm surprised you didn't just use the military purchasing program to get a new one, tax-free while deployed.

Because I've always wanted a V35 Skyline, and having a less than $200 payment a month is awesome!!

the xB looked sick! Digging the Vette wheels. For your G, go with BC coilovers... many (myself included) have had excellent experiences with them.

Well I thought it might be time for a little update...

Nothing really new about the G35...but I am thinking about going a little different less aggressive direction. More on that in a little bit...but first I thought I'd share my new ride...

2009 Oshkosh Defense M-ATV...nice tan color, big offroad tires, weighs over 33000lbs, and armed with a M2 .50cal named "Christi's Wrath" (after my wife, cause god help you if you **** it off!)...

Up in my office...

My deployment, for anyone who cares, is going reasonably well so far. Some days are more "eventful" than others, but it's all good and we are all in good spirits. Worst part about deployment is being away from my 1 year old son, wife, dog, and the G35. But the time is going by quickly at least.

Anyways, I'll be coming home soon for my R&R period, and I'm thinking about buying some parts the next few days so I can have them waiting on me when I get home. As much as I want to pimp out the G, my wife really is having a good time driving it around and running errands, so I want her to continue to be able to drive it without putting on some crazy low offset 19's and stretched tires...

So my new plan is for some 350Z lowering springs (teins, tanabe's, etc...haven't decided yet) some Z or coupe struts/shocks, and I'm in the middle of negotiations for some 18'' 350Z Anniversary rims with tires for $400. I'm hoping that I can lower the car just enough to make the 18'' wheels look right and still keep the drive-ability there for my wife.

I know that once I go past 1'' of lowering the vehicle, the extra camber/toe parts are needed, but if tires were not a concern for now, and I could get the alignment specs as close as I could get them, then I should have no worries besides tire wear correct?

Anywho, the wife is letting me buy a "toy" project car when I get back for good, and I'm thinking I might make it an E30 BMW just because I've always like them and I've never had a euro. Plus they are getting so cheap now, and parts available at so many junkyards, that it would be a lot more cost effective than buying parts for the G.

So I thought I'd share what's been going on lately...hope ya'll have had a great holiday season and Happy New Year from Afghanistan!!

Hey EM. I like the G and the sweet Oshkosh. Those bad guys have brains of marbles to try and take you on with that 50 cal. I was thinking, if you had a pile of parts some of the Columbia or G'vill G35 guys could meet up for an install day and knock it out fast. I've seen plenty of sedans with the coupe 19s and it's a great choice. Even lowered it's not too much for a spouse. Besides, when you boy is big enough to do a little climbing, it will be easier to get in his own seat. My two boys love my 06 sedan.
Thanks for the pics and see you soon.

Hey man, thanks for the kind words, it's cool to see a fellow G owner so close to home as well! Yeah, I think that I'm gonna go ahead and buy some 350Z Tein STechs and find some 350Z struts and call it a day. Hopefully the guy that's near my house selling the Z wheels will still have em' by Feb. when I come home from pass. As far as an install day, I'd be down with that, I'd even volunteer to host it... Anyways, I'll try and post some more pics of interesting things over here soon, as well as updates of what parts I end up buying...
