Anyone ever deal with Transmission fluid leak?

Its actually more of a seepage/drip than a leak. When i look under the car, there is one corner (where a bolt is), that is clearly where the drip is coming from. Seems like some issue right where the bolt connects and its spreading from there. My mechanic told me the entire transmission pan needs to be replaced (as opposed to just a gasket) along with the filter when he does the service.

I wanted to see who else has ran into this issue either randomly or when doing a trans service. Mechanic seemed to think the pan went bad, but im not sure.....thoughts? Is this an obvious fix or something specific to my situation.....

Right... Why aren't you doing this yourself?
You don't have a hour, a 10mm socket for the bolts and a 19mm for the drain plug?

This is a good time to swap the fluid and replace the AT filter.
The filter kit can be had for around 25.00.
The fluid for 60.00.
The kit will have a new seal for the pan.

This is one of the easiest projects you could do on your G35.

I doubt there is anything wrong with the pan.

You can do this at the same time as a drain/fill. There was a thread not too long showing the pan removal with pics. Might be on the 2nd page here

thanks for the info guys. i will look for that thread.

I think my mechanic may have been worried about getting those bolts off successfully because usually everything under my car is rusted and seized..
