03' G35 sedan trunk? What's the difference?

I'm in the market for a g35 and checked out two different 2003 g35 sedans today and the back end was different on both of them. One had this Inifiti 35 logo in the middle of the trunk and the other had it on top under the spoiler, what's that all about? I've noticed that on some other too. Did they chagne the trunk on some of the 03's or something?

if its a early 03 it'll have what looks like a doggie door in the middle with the infiniti logo in the center of the trunk, an opening for the button/latch dohicky to open the trunk, and the infiniti lettering that looks kinda bunched together. from the early 03's on, the infiniti logo is still in the center of the trunk, maybe a little bit higher, no opening for the button/latch, and the infiniti lettering thats spaced out below the infiniti logo.

how weird! So basically your saying that tells me it's an early 03' with that doggie door on it? Why did they change their mind 1/2 way through the same production year? That's unheard of changing something within the year isn't it?

Nope, A lot of manufactures make mid year revisions to vehicles. Nissan also revised the rear springs on the 350Z mid year 2004 to a higher spring rate due to complaints of the 03-early 04 being bouncy in the rear.
It's common to address issues after the model has come out.

Keep in mind the first gen G sedan was in Japanese market for nearly one year before being sold in the US. The first G sedan actually sold in Japan in late 2001. These cars are older than most think. This also means the redesigned trunk didn't happen in merely 6 months on market. It's more like 18 to 20 months in market.
