Throttle body install

Hello everyone,

I need to install a remanufactured throttle body in my 03 sedan because the original one was cleaned and got messed up. Ive done the throttle reset countless times and it idles fine all the time, it just randomly turns off whenever it wants. I wait 10 seconds for throttle to reset, turn it on and go on my merry way. My question is, when installing the remanufactured one can I do all the throttle learning procedures and thats it or do I have to take it to the dealer to sync it with a computer?
Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You should just be able to do the relearn yourself.

Make sure the negative battery cable is disconnected before you install the new TB

i was wondering how did the reset go? I am about to do the same. But the dealer said that 9 out of 10 times i will need to do a consult to get it to work properly.

I think the dealer's trying to get your money.^^ I have installed a number of throttle bodies on the DE motor and never had I had to take it to the dealer. Just follow the 3 or 4 procedures recommended to the letter and you should be good to go.

I had just bought the throttle body from them so i was asking to see if i needed to do anything else besides the ECU reset, throttle position relearn and throttle valve relearn.

You should be fine, no Consult needed.

One thing to remember is that the relearn means it has to, well, re-learn. This doesn't happen instantly, or even in one day, so expect a little inconsistent throttle response and idle speeds for a few days until it learns your style of driving.
