Slow Gear Changes on my g35 sedan(auto)

When I'm driving normally the car changes gears just fine. And when I'm ok the highway and say in 3rd going to forth or forth going to fifth and accelerate hard the gears shift fine as well. But when I'm stopped and accelerate really hard going through all the gears the car seems to pause before changing the gear. It will go into 2nd fine and then I push it into third and it continues to rev up in 2nd for a bit before going into 3rd, same when I go from 3rd to 4th.

Any ideas? transmission flush? New spark plugs?

I'm new to this car and not very car savvy fyi.

I'd appreciate any input

Are you driving in regular auto or manumatic mode?

Sounds like you are in tiptronic mode (or w/e its called lol) since you can change gears by yourself. What you mean is when u push the shifter to shift the car acts like as if nothing happened for 2 secs then it shifts? OR when you shift it takes a long time to engage the gear?

If you're on the gas hard, it's not going to shift right away, it's going to either get to redline and shift, or somewhere close depending how hard you are on the gas. Nothing abnormal.

Why is this? Why won't it shift right when I push the shifter even though I'm on the gas hard?

Try and do some resets in the car to see if it makes it any better. The last owner may have drove it like a grandma.

Nothing, honestly. Do a auto to manual swap

first thing...buy a grounding kit, throttle response is your problem. Pick up a transgo kit for your transmission and then get a tune and you will have no problems, there's two locals here with upgraded valve bodies in my area and they spit fire no shift issues...no need for a manual

The transgo will increase the speed of the actual shift because of the increased line pressure. It has nothing to do with the electronics of how the transmission works. The time from when he physically hits the shifter to upshift to when the car shifts can't be changed. A grounding kit may help, but not likely to the extent you need it to.

Our cars also have a learning algorithm that adjusts throttle response to your style of driving. Try resetting the ECU.
