It would be fine if Infiniti would offer to upgrade to the '05 brakes, even if there was some cost involved, I don't understand why they put the brake warranty on the G35, then just replace the brakes with the same parts.

And dklau33, it's not the dust, it's the wear issue, and I bet you'll find 80% of the buyers in this price range don't want to be changing brakes every year, what you see here is a very small percentage of G35 owners. People should complain!

The warranty program covers pads and rotors. If the 05 brakes are substantially different from previous model years, there are probably considerations for the ABS, VDC, and other systems. I can see how they'd prefer to stick with a simple repair and pad/rotor replacement program.

See, that would be another reason to trade up to an '05 as opposed to upgrading the brakes IMO!

Bottom line, you'd have to replace the pads and rotors who knows how many times before it would make sense financially.

I bet you can use the same calipers-
You'd need different 2005 caliper carriers, 2005 rotors and probably some pads.
This sounds like it would be less than $500 bucks in parts.
We've seen this before. While we are talking about "cheap brake" upgrades, do the Qs use larger rotors?

The 2005's get dual-piston calipers up front. Don't know if the rear calipers changed.

If anybody wants a brake setup off a 2005 6mt coupe let me know. ( PM me)
I upgraded to the 14" Wilwoods. My old brakes had about 700 miles on them.
I can tell you this. They worked great. Just a bolt on mod for the 2005 setup

So they are dual piston. Nice. And this is for all 2005's, sedans and coupes right?

I took care of the potential problem before it could even get started. I put in Stillen 'Metal Matrix' pads before the car was a week old. They wear clean, the rotors look like chrome, the car stops great, AND NO DUST. Just over a hundred bucks for the set and I slapped em' in in less than a half an hour. Gotta luv it/them.

Plus, the rotors are larger, front and rear. Much smoother stopping as well!
