Reset low tire pressure warning light?

Hi Folks:

Four days old and just got my first flat! At least now I know that the low tire pressure warning light works. Question is - how do I reset it? The manual says I have to go back to the dealer. Any way I can do it myself instead of trucking all the way back there?

Guidance appreciated!

I've had that once too. Basically, once you inflate the tire, after a few minutes of driving, it will turn itself off. If it doesn't, then you better take it in to have it checked for defects.

Hey:
Thanks for info - yep, once I had tire repaired, back on car, and driven for a few minutes, the warning light went out.

Found this interesting article about TPM systems (although not about the G35 specifically)

Thanks again for the reply!

It seems like anytime it’s a fraction of a psi different, or the weather changes, or the moon is just right…the light comes on. Is there anyway to set the sensitivity on this thing? Like 25 psi, or 5 psi difference maybe?

The dealer said it was due to cold mornings, we hit like 111 degrees here in Texas that same week, so I was well aware of the fact I was getting a stock answer for a popular question. Especially due to the fact two other people there had the same damn problem.

Other than that I absolutley love the car, I can't stay out of it.

I would take it back to the dealer. It's not supposed to go off until the pressure is 27 or 28 psi for the sedan. Also try to use a different tire gauge to measure the pressure. The one you are using MAY be off. That happen to me once before. If the gauge is ok, then there's something wrong with your low tire pressure sensor.

I'm also in Texas (dallas) and had the alarm go off twice in the last month. (Nitrogen filled tires if that makes a difference). The 1st time it went off within minutes of the start of a 40 mile commute. It went off a mile from the dealer that afternoon after an additional 30 miles to get there. The 2nd time it stayed for the whole trip. I asked the dealer to raise the tire pressue to 35lbs per tire, so far so good. (No alarms)
