Mods and Questions on 05 G35X
Some mods and questions I have in mind and am wondering if its possible to do:
Strafe Automotive 05-06 Rear Lip: Is this a replica rear lip that will Exact fit on the 05-06 Sedans without any modification to it?
-Ionic Dynamics 05-06 Front Lip - The quality of this good?
-Strafe Automotive Nismo Sideskirts - Will this exact fit on 05-06?
-Best intake that actually helps? I want Injen CAI cuz of the great sound but I heard ztube plus jwt pop gives gains or berk technology intake as well?
-High flow cat give any gain on stock exhaust?
-Is it okay to upgrade to 18in rims? Currently I have Oem 17in rims but am wondering if changing to any other rims besides stock will affect the awd system and overall performance. Do lighter rims give gains in performance?
-Any suggestions on what to put in the center cubbyhole where oem navi is suppose to go? I was wondering maybe to somehow put a Garmin navi in it with velcro or something more professional looking.
-Does Anyone know where I can buy oem aluminum dash trim. I have the oem wood trim and I feel like an old man with it, just a little to classy for me. I know I can find the stereo and ac trim online but what about the gear box and door handle trims?
Would a front Strut bar help when turning hard in regular turns and maybe sharp corners?
-Oem shark fin for the 05-06? I've seen a few G35s with this but can never find the actual product to buy.
Problems with the G35x:
-Having it for 2 years now theres some slight issues I hate and dunno if its just that the car is getting old.
-The Passenger side seatbelt pillar keeps creaking every time I turn or bump. Fix for this?
-Compression bushings keep creaking like a **** over big bumps. Guessing dealership has to replace.
-Driver side window creaks with stereo blasting or sometimes a bump. fix?
-When driving and the car is about to switch to the second gear, sometimes not all the time, but the tranny feels like its hesitating to change and I get a stuttery gear change going from gear 1 to 2 on regular automatic driving. This is also while revving around 3-4rpm. Its weird but feels like something is wrong, it doesn't knock but is not normal when it happens.
-The car over all feels sluggish to me over this year and does not have that fast feeling I had when I bough the car at 38K miles. Currently have 74K miles. I've kept with dealer maintenance and even using Mobil 1 oil. Idk if its the tranny just being sluggish or something idk but any suggestions let me know.
-Steering feels a little off as well and doesn't feel precise like it use to be. My friend's bmw is very accurate on steering which has 100K miles 2006 model, and I hate it cuz mine just doesn't feel like that nowadays. It use to but no more.
-Spongy feeling on brakes? Maybe get metal braided brake lines?
Oh yea any new meets happening in NJ possibly near Atlantic City?
Sorry if I'm in the wrong thread section for any of this, Any suggestions are welcomed and thanks to anyone who answers!

You can get bigger wheels as long as their not staggered, as far as performance gains for lighter wheels its not very noticeable. I have the 18" nismo v.1. 350z track wheels and the best part of the upgrade was the better tires. Imo the front strut bar is an immediate upgrade in the handling dept. I have the circuit sports all aluminum one and its super light weight and strong.
For your steering not being precise anymore its probably time for an alignment. There's also a thread on how to change your power steering fluid. Both should help. Search PSA power steering to find the thread.
As far as the car not feeling fast and tranny jerking you may want to try an easy ecu reset. There's a thread stickied in the engine/drivetrain area. I did it to my 05x and it definitely helped it shift smoother in regular auto and manumatic mode.

you can stagger wheels on an X just make sure the tire sizes have the same rolling diameter..i have 19s with 8.5 front and 9.5 rear..use tire calculator to play with diff tire sizes to see which two match up good..im running 245/40/19 and 275/35/19 safe for X
