How can G35 falls into the $23,000-$30,000 category? 99.9% of the G35s on the street should exceed $30k easily, regardless of sedan or coupe. In fact, both loaded, G35 is more expensive than TL. Accord V6, Legacy, Passat, TSX should be in that category, but not G right? Who cares, as long as our beloved G gets an award......again.

I guess the Infiniti G35 is in their "below $30k group" b/c the base price is just below $30k (with absolutely nothing in it I suppose) whereas the only options on the Acura TL are the Navi system and rear spoiler (and the Spec A level car) and the base price is about $32k. I would really like to see the G35 get more awards and accolades from the car mags like C&D, MT, Road & Track, Automobile, etc.
Anyhow...congrats to Infiniti (and us for our smart choices)!!!

Anyways, the base price you see on Infiniti website ($30,700) is base MSRP. $28,740 that the article mentioned is the invoice, although Edmunds website shows even lower invoice: $28,243. (http://www.edmunds.com/new/2005/infi...m2.1.infiniti*)
Hopefully I get it next year. My budget is tight though, if I'm going to get a G35... I might have to settle for even an Altima SE... We'll see.

While I am surprised that the G35 and the TL are in separate categories, it was probably a blessing! Both cars offer outstanding value (which is what Money magazine is most concerned with) and it would have been a shame if either were not to be recognized. The only other way to get around the problem would be to create two sub-categories within the 25 - 35 k price range; one called sport-luxury and the other luxury-sport!
