so the cupholder door on my G is broken and no longer looks down when closed or stays open.. it moves freely and is very annoying! what can be done to fix it? do I have to buy the whole console?

Hi guys, new to the site. I had the same problem with my 06 5AT. Only way to replace it is to buy a whole new cupholder ($$$). That is unless you can find one used.

ok, so this might sound ghetto but I went to Target and bought 2 sided sticky velcro circles slightly smaller than a dime and place it on the bottom of the lid and on the insert so that it will stay closed and when I wanna use the cupholder I push on the back of the lid and it opens..

Ghetto or not its a cheaper or alternative, when I realized mine had broke I tore the whole door off. Figured since thats where the wallet and phone ends up that it wouldnt be a big deal. I almost kick myself now for buying a new cupholder.
