Great post Blain.
I myself bought for the safety factor. I had lost my job in Oct of 09, then in Nov (09) I got T-boned by an oil taker in an intersection (his fault). So with no job and no ride ($23K + in damages). I went shopping for the safest car I could afford. After weeks of looking at various cars I getting tired of driving the rental Chrysler 300 I went on a one day car shopping spree. I took a buddy and drove as many cars as I could. On my way home we stopped in at a local Infiniti dealer that had a OB sedan that I had been eyeballing. I never drove a G before and knew very little aside from them being a safe car. My mind was made up on the "test" drive. Decent power+safe+rwd+ nice styling=win
The rest is history. I originally planned on only a 1" or less drop and call it a day. I then came on here and saw your car, Marcus's, Tim's (bluedream), and TTranks. Several sets of wheels, static springs, then coilovers, engine mods, etc. I was never happy with the look for more than a month before seeing something else I liked or wanted to try. Its an addiction.
