you can make them fit, but you have to make a small notch on the d2s for it to work. just compare the two and you will see the small portion that needs to be notched

if you can return them and get the d2r version i would do that. d2s bulbs are for projector type headlights not reflector. you will likely blind oncoming traffic with these bulbs in your headlights because they dont have the built in shield the d2r bulb have.

so i contacted the company and this is how it went...

me: The problem is i ordered the wrong size .

I needed D2R but instead ordered D2S. In the FAQ section it tells me to contact your company first before sending back my product... I would like to exchange the D2S bulbs for the D2R version. Please send me an email back with instructions of what to do, Thank You Nancy Morrison.

them: Dear Customer,

Thank you for your business.

The D2R and D2S bulbs are the same, The D2R is just a hybrid version of the D2S they should both work the same.

For any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at anytime.

Sincerely,
Doc

me: The d2s bulb does not fit because the notches do not line up. I have compared pictures of the bulbs online and they do have different notches to fit in. Also, i have looked up my manual online and it tells me i need d2r bulbs. http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...RG-Results.htm

I plan on purchasing led lights for my front turn signals from you also and was hoping that we could get this done.

them: Dear Customer,

We tried contacting you via telephone and we were unable to get a hold of you, we left a message for you to call us back at (626) 872-1127 we are open M-F 9am-6pm PST so we can further assist you on this issue.

Have you tried installing the bulbs yet?

We have installed the D2R bulbs on many other 2004 G35 just like yours and did not have any issues at all. The difference between the D2R vs D2S is the D2R has the glare protector shield on the bulb and the D2S doesn't, the D2R might be slightly difference on the base from the D2S but should still fit the same way.

For any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at anytime.

Sincerely,
Doc

what else can i say??? all i want to do is get the right lights and not get hassled.

Why not just notch them so they fit?

^ I agree, it's very simple to make it work. You might as well keep them, modify them and use them since you already have them with you

me I would like to return my lights because i dont want my car to look like a 98 civic with a crappy hid kit and light spewing everywhere. A d2r housing is built for a d2r bulb not a d2s because of the glare, not to mention the fact that d2r is for reflector headlights not projector. I dont understand what the big deal is in returning my wrong product for the correct one.

Them:
Dear Customer,

Sorry for the inconvenience.

The D2C bulb that we carry that is equivalent to the D2S/D2R is the only type of bulb we carry have you tried installing them to see how they look on your vehicle, if you want you return the bulb for a refund please let us know what you would like to do.

For any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at anytime.

Sincerely,
Doc
