which tires wear out first? front or rear

I have a 2005 6MT sedan. Will the front or rears wear out first? I got the car a year ago and rotated the tires in the summer. It seems like the fronts may be wearing faster than the rears. I thought that the rears would wear out faster in a RWD car.

no.. most weight is on the front wheels... so front will wear out faster.

depends on how you drive too.. heavy cornering is likely to wear the fronts quicker, a heavy right foot is likely to wear the rears.

rear first, no? i always thought it depended on the drive, rear wheel vs. front wheel.

My rears have always worn out about twice as quickly as the fronts.

Unless you're always driving downhill on twisties, your rear will %99 always wear out faster. Check your alignment. If its really off, then it could be a major contributing factor to wear out the front tires first.

52% of the weight is at the front, so no not most of the weight.

Our Cars are RWD which instantly mean the rears will wear faster.

I have an AWD G which is biased toward the rear and my rears definitely wear faster.

This has been my experience, too. If you can rotate them, just keep putting the meatiest ones on the rear.
