Another item to consider when moving up in size is the added weight. You might want to look at getting wheels that are lighter than your stock 17". I believe the sport 17" are around 23lbs. each and your outside diameter with the 215/55/17 is 26.4" or 26.3" depending on the Goodyear or the Bridgestone. You will want to stay somewhere in this range of 26.1 to 26.7. A Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 245/45/18 (front) OD is 26.7 and the 275/40/18 (rear) OD is 26.6. There is a minimal difference in the outside diameter this way from stock. Hope this helps!

I managed to get a hold of some REALLY NICE 18" wheels from a coupe but had some issues with fitment... I simply went down to my local discount tire with the wheels and the nice man told me he'd seen this before and I'd need a "rim job". It didn't take long and I have to say I'm VERY happy with the results. I would highly recommend all the nice fellows at Discount Tire. They really know how to put the customer first.
If you have any problems I'd suggest going to your local discount tire and asking if they have any guys with a few minutes free who might be able to give you a free "rim job" kind of on the side. They'll usually do all they can to help you out.

Let's just say I can feel every bump in the road now and I'm leaving a trail of rubber everywhere I go.

Low blow? I guess that was. I apologize to anyone from San Francisco who might have been offended. It is a beautiful city but you do have be careful if you find a quarter on the sidewalk and decide to bend over and pick it up. Oh, did I offend anyone again. I apologize. Originally Posted by G35papa
