G35 Sedan Rims question!
G35 Sedan Rims question!
I just wanted to know if the 18 inch G35 coupe (2003-04) rims would fit on my 2003 g35 sedan. And if it does will it rub against the wheel well? Someone please get back to me on this.
I know many G35Driver.com ppl have 18" Coupe wheels on their G35 Sedans (without any rubbing or other issues I believe); I'm sure someone with the wheels will chime in and verify this.
Suggest wheel size for '03 Sedan
I'm not as versed on this topic like most of you, but looking for straightforward answer here: I'm looking to go new wheels/tires on my '03. Don't want to have to do anything to the car, just put on the new wheels/tires and be done. What is the largest wheel (18", 19" or 20") I can go with, without rubbing, bumping, ride issues? And also suggestion on tire size. Should I go same all around or wider in rear? What about rotation - or screw that?

this much i know
19" x 8.5" wheels w/35 offset all the way around
245/35 r19 tires all the way around
on 2004 sedan with sport package
lowered with h-tech springs (1.4"f / 0.7"r)
absolutely no rubbing issues whatsoever.
hope this helps.

Taking a fresh look at the whole issue, I now say I cannot understand why those members I saw on the old board would have had clearance issues in the rear with coupe 18's. Here's why. Enkei tells us that a 18x9 rim with a 38mm offset and a 245/45-18 tire has 2mm clearance from the rear fender lip on the sedan. A 18x8 rim with the coupes 30mm rear offset actually moves the tire a additional 5mm further away from that rear fender lip.

go to www.1010tires.com, and use the tire size calculator to figure out speedometer discrepancies. it also may help you figure out what tire sizes you want. someone also did a post about 6 months ago about the tire sizes and rim sizes that fit both the coupe and sedan. it had an easy to read chart. it broke down which tire makers had those sizes too.
hope this helps.
I have had the coupe rims and staggered tire setup (225 front, 245 rear) on my Gsedan for over a year now and have had NO issues with rubbing in the rear. Even with a fully loaded car.
If you are considering lowering the G and have the stock suspension (not the sports suspension) you may have some issues with rubbing after you lower it.
Changing the tire size from 245 to 235 (as Gsedan35 suggested) would eliminate the issue as the tire would now clear the fenders lip. With the 245s on it basically comes flush with the fender in the rear.

OK all, i had coupe 18's on my G35 Sedan, lowered with Eibach springs with the sports suspension, i had had issues rubbing in the rear once in awhile, only when there was a full load in my car, and going over speed bumps too quickly, other then that i had no rubbing issues.
