Just have a couple quick questions after a 5/16" Copper Iso Plenum Spacer -

First, When I removed the lower collector to install the isolating gasket, I noticed that the second (from the front of the engine) intake tract had considerably less oily residue than the other five. Is this normal or is something wrong with that cylinder?

Secondly - after the install, I noticed a repetitive clicking sound which I can't seem to isolate. Its possible that it was there before the plenum spacer install, but I listened a lot more closely after the install and noticed it. Any common sources? I haven't checked if it rises with the RPMs, but I don't believe it does - I'll check that in the next couple days.

Lastly, there are three tubes of approximately the same diameter near the throttle body. I'm 99% sure I connected them correctly to the throttle body heater and plenum, but I'm wondering what the third tube is for. The tube in question is closer to the top of the plenum - you can see it in this picture close to the number "7."

Clicking sound? Yikes. Hopefully one of the plastic washers didn't fall down in there.

 

Yea i had alot of oily residue, but clicking sound i never had, i hope nothing fell down^

 

I'm very confident that nothing fell down into the lower collector or into the intake manifold - every second that the lower collector wasn't on, there were rags in the intake manifold which were removed immediately before re-installing the lower collector. Also, I made sure before tightening down the center bolts in the upper plenum to remove the bolts and push them back in - to make sure they "stuck" in the black plastic spacers that were push fit on. With the cup at the top of the spacers and the upper plenum seated, it is very, very improbable that one of the spacers fell out.

Also - about the oil, I wasn't concerned about the presence of the oil, just the fact that one cylinder seemed to have a lot less oil on its intake tract than the others.

I believe oil in the lower Plenum stems from leaking valve covers. I have the same issue

also you might want to change your oil to a heavier weight oil next oil change and see if the clicking gos away if you do a Search on here you will find out a lot of people run heavier weight oil
