Opinion on a sedan 335
bmw's are like kryptonite to me i've owned 4 e30's and 1 e34 by now and i keep selling them and then buying a new one lol i know its not a e90/2 but i can tell you there are a lot of communities out there that you can ask and they'd have better answers for you, i've looked into this too just cause the 335's are pretty fast from the factory and easy to throw a ecu upgrade at and make it even faster... but no car payment beats me away from it.... good luck on whatever you decide to do
I've driven three 335i's both autos and manuals. They're super nice cars but the reliability of those N55 motors are terrible. The turbos have been known to cause a whole chunk of problems that can't be fixed such as the high pressure fuel pump. It could go at any time anywhere and then a brand new one could have the same thing happen to it. I came an inch to buying one a few years back but instead I bought a 2006 330i 6 speed and Berger tuned it making it very quick. A year later I sold it for my '08 G35x but if there's one thing I would do it would be to stay away from the 335i...forever because even though BMW thinks they have the problems figured out, they never will.
Thanks guys, been reading up and due to the fuel pump issues, turbo problems and coming off warrantee, I'm running the other way. Will look for a 2008/2009 G. Reliability is very important to me. Any difference body wise in the 2, I know the 2009 has the 3.7 litre motor, just wondering if there are any other diferences. Glad to be staying with the Infiniti tribe.

Have my eye on the 2009 but because I live in the NE there are only X's to chose from, I just can't stand that gap over the wheels, hope this car can be lowered like the RWD.

I have a 2004 G35x as well as a 2009 335i sedan. The High Pressure Fuel Pumps are covered under an extended 10yr/120k miles warranty. The newer versions are not exhibiting the same problems. For the rest of the car, there are some very good aftermarket warranties out there that aren't super expensive.

A $500 jb4 (juice box 4) ecu chip alone will get you to 350whp and only takes about 15-20 minutes to install/remove in the case that you are going to the dealership for service, they won't have a trace of any ecu change ( guaranteed through Berger tuning).

i just purchased a 06 330i sedan sport. alot better mpg and alot more refined. my 04 g sedan is a bit more fun to drive around though but very raw of a car. my g has a 350z revised suspension so maybe it's more fun due to that.
i like to throw the g around and the torque, but i like the 330i as an all around better daily driver

No sir e bob! The chip safely increases boost dependning on what map your running. And if you get the Dinan Chip through the BMW dealership than it doesnt void the warranty.. but its $2000, compared to the $500 JB4 chip.
cool i'll look into that chip. yea my pedal was a slug, but i did the adaptive throttle reset and it's alot more responsive now.
oh by raw i mean, the engine is louder and gruntier, the ride is a bit less refined, like you can feel and hear everything on the road, more road noise. it's still a great car, it's the closest anyone will be able to get to a bmw.
