Just installed a coupe midpipe in my 04 x
So finally i installed the coupe midpipe in my sedan and its rather disappointing.
First off, anyone considering this mod, don't have high expectations. No one mentioned it causes clearance issues with the heat shield and the metal bracket that look like a mini upside down strut bar. I had to remove both. After finally fixing the clearance issues, I started it up and reved a couple of times and it sounded a tad deeper between 1000 to 3000 rpm, but everywhere else in the power band is the same as stock. Also not sure if it feels quicker or gained any horsepower... I highly doubt it.....

What have you been reading?
There has never been a claim of POWER, all a mid pipe does is add a different growl and shave some off maybe 5lbs. Because it replaced the larger resonator on the sedan with a smaller one off a coupe. The pipe isn't larger, so no gains should be seen.

OB '04 Coupe Premium w/Performance Wheel & Tire
The '04 resonator could serve as a boat anchor, so you shaved 20-30 lbs. The resonator went from 30" of baffles and perforations that reduce sound, to a 9" tube which adds a growl to your setup. Maybe unplug your negative battery cable for a while (15-20 minutes) and plug it back in. Once the ecu rests you will notice a bigger change, basically it needs to adapt (100-150 miles) to the new exhaust flow

yea i couldn't break my tires loose in manual mode with the sedan midpipe on but could after i replaced it i noticed..but then again i also pulled off my y-pipe and muffler as well
its a decent growl added.
I can see how some can say its annoying and some can just love it. My currently set is listed below and some days, i like it and some days i wish it would just be silence.

It won't be annoying and if you don't like it, it's cheap and usually easy to sell. Go for it.
