Brake and Battery lights on, no power steering, no power, all dash lights flashing

The last night I was driving and I saw that the Brake and Battery lights came on after I accelerated (quickly). So I restarted the car and they stayed on, then I realized my power steering was gone and it was taking a lot of effort to turn the wheel, but it seemed to drive fine aside from that.

Later in the night, these lights came on again (still no power steering), and it drove fine for about a half a mile, then as I was going up a hill I went to shift into first from a stoplight and even with the pedal all of the way down it would give me no RPMS. In neutral it revved fine, but try to shift into gear and it would stay below 1k. I finally got it into gear and rolling (~3mph) long enough to get it into a parking lot.

However, as I was driving at that super slow speed with my foot to the floor, all of the dash lights started to come on, then the entire gauge cluster and all interior lights started flashing, the AC would kick on and off, my headunit would shut on and off, and once I got it safely into the parking lot I tried to restart. It wouldnt at first, but I left it alone for a minute and got the engine to start but the gauge lights were out and the AC was off.

I'm assuming this has to be a battery/alternator issue, but I'd love some help as I just spent $1300 getting my tranny fixed and am obviously not pleased about dumping more money into this right now, but I need the car to work.

I should mention in cold weather I do have the VDC OFF / SLIP light problem and when it's really cold my speedo sometimes goes to zero (probably faulty speed sensor?)

Thanks for any help guys, sorry about the long message, I just wanted to make sure everyone understands the situation.

Did you pop the hood to see if your belts are broke if one of your belts brake it could have broke the other belt which would cause your problems, and if that was the case your car would be running on the battery only and once the volts drop so low your car would start shuting everything down.

Sounds like your alternator might possibly be going out. My car did something very similar, and then just died and had to get towed.

Thanks for the quick reply and suggestion.

I also called the closest Infiniti dealer to talk to a tech there and he said the same thing, sounds like a belt.

Sounds expensive to me. I'll repost once I learn more, but I assume that the car is un-driveable and I'll need to get it towed.

Pop the hood if the belts are attatched and tight then it's your alternator most likely

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
If it's just your belts, $40 and less than an hour of labor and you're good to go. One of the easiest DIYs I've done on the G.
