Moving from Coupe to Sedan

Hey all, I need to sell my coupe in the Spring as I have a baby on the way and would much prefer an AWD sedan. So I was thinking an 05/06 x. I know much more about the coupes than the sedans so bear with me here. I did a search but it kept saying nothing matched.

Sedan owners;

1) I believe the 06 sedan has 298hp correct? that would be the revup engine. Is this for both auto and manual in the sedan? does it have oil consumption problems like the coupe? If the engines are different between auto and manual what is the hp difference? Coming from the coupe I'd like to not go backwards in power

2) Anyone think coming from a coupe I will hate the feel of the Sedan?

Thanks for your feedback

I have a 2006 G35x

1) The X is only offered in 5AT, so only 280hp.

2) The biggest thing, in my opinion, is suspension. But the ability to drive in snow kind of makes up for that haha

no rev-up for X - meaning less HP but at least no OC problem

The X will be an inch higher off the ground and will less stiff shocks (slightly more body roll). Nothing that can't be easily fixed though. Just throw a used coupe suspension on there and it will handle the same. Or better yet, a 350Z suspension.

Power between a Rev Up and an Auto feels negligible to me. I dont think you'd give up that much performance.

I think you will like the sedan. Does everything the coupe does, except easier.

theres not one thing except looks that i liked more about my 06 coupe.
i love my 05 6mt sedan.
less blind spots
lighter
comfortably seats 5
sedan trunk holds 2-3 bodies vs the coupes holding small children only
nothing i can say bad about it

The non rev up gives up a few HP, but has more torque.

Not sure what your budget is like, but you might consider getting a small used sub and keeping the coupe. You will most likely not get what you want for the coupe and the difference you pay might be negligible. Win win for you.

My budget is 14/15k. My couple will probably net me 10 or 11 depending on the route I go. My thought process was more "hey you have a baby coming, be responsible"...so I figured the sedan route would still give me the engine drivetrain I love...and I can feel comfortable driving my family in it year round(vs seasonal with the coupe)

All Very good information guys, I appreciate it. I really wanted an 07+ but unfortunately its just slightly out of my budget. I've seen that with some time and work you can make the pre 07 sedans look sharp
