A Scary Drive...

I thought I would post to let you all know about a recent "issue" I had with my auto sedan. I have been enjoying the discussions on the forum for the last few months.

I was driving at city speeds Tuesday, and all of the sudden there was a noticable electircal system event (flicker/surge ?). When it ended a few seconds later, the car's VDC Off, Slip & Svc Engine Soon lights came on. In addition the accelerator pedal became useless and the car only was able to idle. (No RPM changes no matter what accelator position). This made top speeds of < 10mph. Luckily, I was traveling at a low rate of speed, or this could have been a disaster.

I had roadside tow it to the nearest dealer. (SW Infiniti in Houston) and apparently there was a service bulletin about this type of problem. They ended up replacing the throttle housing and making a few other related adjustments adjustments. (a nice, big warranty job)

My baby only has 525mi so far, and things seem to be OK since I got her back today. Hopefully they got it fixed right.

First that I have heard about something like this, Service Bulletin or otherwise. And nothing is said or done at the dealer that we know of when we take our cars in for the other TSB stuff. Makes you wonder?? Hmmmmmh?
