I cant stand the look of the faded plastic trim that came on these cars. I still have it on my car but it will be coming off very soon. Also, with the DWI on your record cops will be looking to pull you over more than others, don't do anything that will give them a reason to.
Edit: To answer your original question though, I would go all black. It will look really clean once the trim is painted.

NEVER DO NITE SHADES! i had my tail lights blacked out 10 months later they look like they do in that pic now. They fade quick. Personally i would go with vinyl its a bit more, but it can peal right off if needed unlike nite shades and they don't fade.
