glad i ran across this thread. i've got a set of z fronts and g coupe rears waiting for shocks/struts to go on my 05. i've been looking at either kyb gr2's or tokico's. i've had tokico's on a lowered car before and they held up great from what i remember. i didn't really care too much about ride quality then tho and i don't remember how comfy they were.

D-Specs are much better - adjusting the dampening is so you can match them to your springs...

I have the HP but wish I had the D-specs.

Go with k-sport coilovers! Get them thru ace up motorsport, cheapest place to buy them and if you live in az you can get them for even cheaper.

I will going with the Z/G combo to drop the car but want to retain OEM ride quality so I don't have to hear the wife complain about it. What is THE best shock/strut combo to use for this? I have an 06 6 mt so it is the sport sedan with the firmer spring rates.

I had to learn the hard way before with my old Altima, everyone swore the kyb gr2 with eibach prokit springs was far better ride quality than oem but it ended up being worse than my completely blown oem setup since the springs were way to stiff for the shocks/struts and made the car horrible to drive over any surface that wasn't smooth as glass.
