Well I sold the G and got...

Well I sold my G35 Sedan yesterday after a year and got an Altima SE R. Loved the car just didn't want anything RWD or lowered (moving to Chicago next month). I know Ill get some heat over it but O well. IMO I don't think its a downgrade at all.
Loved the G and all the help I got from this site. W/O a doubt I got the most help from other members on here when I asked a question and less of the smartass remarks or stupid comments vs other car forums. Thanks again!

Boo! Is that the V6 model? If so, not too bad. My girlfriend got a loaner of the regular 4 cylinder 2012 Altima sedan while her 350Z was in the shop and that thing was slow as molasses and handled horrible. Tons of room on the inside though.

SE-R's are pretty nice. If you needed/wanted FWD then I don't think you did too bad.

Altima SE-Rs are great cars, however i think your foolish for thinking you cant get by with a lowered RWD car in Chicago. Honestly, the winters there are no worse than TN.

Congrats on your new ride! To each their own and if this suits your needs then by all means! Nissan could have made this car boring with a 4 banger. Instead they used the VQ and equipped it with a lot of nice extras...HIDs, 6 speed and forged alloy wheels to name a few. Oh yeah, one more thing...a dual exhaust with a sweeeet exhaust note!

You guys have to hear this to appreciate it! Go to 4:40

Snow tires have been probably one of the best single investments I have made for a car.

I heavily looked into an SE-R before I picked up my G...They are hard to find(in good condition)...I've found a few but they are really beat up or very high milage. If you found one in good condition with lower miles...kuddos to you. They are great cars, I'm a huge fan. Only thing for me is once I tasted RWD in a sporty car, it changes the feel of it. But coming from your climate, I totally get your decision. Enjoy it!

Any car with snow tires + a smart/experienced driver will do. I like my AWD while in most cases i dont need it. I cant imagine how much of a beast this is WITH snow tires.

SER should be faster then a g35 sedan anyways. Not many SER's around chicago. Plenty of g35's
Oh it's a beast. I give it a boot-full in empty snow-filled parking lots and TRY to kick it out with vdc off, and it just grips again the instant I let off the gas. Fun for beasting, boring for drifting haha

Thanks. I love it so far. And I totally agree with you. It took me 3 months to find this one and it ended up being in my backyard.
05 SE R w 68k on it. Almost flawless exterior and flawless interior
I'm excited and by the time I move to Chicago hopefully the crappy weather for the most part has passed.

nice pick up. SE-R is a nice car, but I just wish it came with a Helical Limited Slip Diff like my 03 Maxima 6speed did.

Congrats on the sale on the G, I recently sold mine as well. I stuck with RWD though.
