Considering a G8 GT as a replacement to my totalled G35
#32
When I was last looking for a car, I was driving a 2002 Grand Prix GT. I had driven a Grand Am in the past, and a Trans Am. I do like Pontiac, but always loved the G35. I was deciding between buying a new 08 G8 GT or a 2006 G35. My signature kind of gives the decision. I thought the Pontiac's interior looked and felt cheap. I also thought I would also second guess not having the infiniti forever. I love my car. The G8s do look nice...and on paper.
Personally, I think I would stick with infiniti....maybe an M, if it falls in range.
Good luck,
Dave

Do you want auto or manual, or doesn't matter? That's the big question to finalize what options you have. Many of the cars only come in Auto for what yo'ure looking at.
The G8 is gorgeous, and well built. If they made it in standard (non-gxp), then I'd have one in my driveway likely.
540i is basically an M5 for cheaper with cheaper insurance, great car too look at too.

Yuuup, clearly I suck. I did read it too not sure how I missed that, thanks.
Well OP, your options are many. Personally, I think the M or another G would suit well. The G8 GT is a really sweet car though, I don't think you can compare the bang for the buck of either the G or the Pontiac with the bulk of the other options (Audi, Bimmer, Lexus, Benz, etc), none of those euro/luxo cars offer the power for the price, unless you get an older one with higher miles, and then you're into more repairs, and those are all cars that make it tough to repair yourself, many items are dealer-only type things.
The only car that is somewhat of an exception is the 540i I mentioned earlier, but they're harder to find, and still a little pricier than the G8 or G35 with comparable miles/condition.
Just my $.02 on it.
